Slumdog Millionaire fame Frieda Pinto's recent movie 'Desert Dancer' has unveiled its first trailer. The trailer videos Pinto and her friends practicing some dance moves in an Orthodox society and risking their lives.
The movie is a real life story of dancer Afshin Ghaffarian, played by Reece Ritchie. He was punished at school as a kid for dancing in class. However, Afshin didn’t gave up his passion and starts learning dance from videos of Michael Jackson, Gene Kelly and Rudolf Nureyev, and later starts his own dance company just like his friends, including Pinto's Elaheh.
The movie is directed by Richard Raymond and the cast includes Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Cullen, and Marmama Corlett. The movie will be shown at Santa Barbara International Film Festival at the Arlington Theatre and is set for a U.S. release on 10 April before going wide on 17 April.
